This is an excellent resource for needy families right here in Milan. It is simply a food pantry where area residents can come every Tuesday and pick up groceries at no cost. They are always looking for volunteers to sort and help bag the items.

A non-profit thrift store in nearby Aurora that is dependent on volunteers. Donations and proceeds from the thrift store go to various organizations including Matthew 25 ministries, based in Cincinnati, OH. While volunteers aren't paid, they are reward with store credit!

The mission of Ripley Crossing is to provide older adults in rural Southeastern Indiana quality housing, relief from social isolation, and access to a continuum of health care services. Their campus includes senior apartments, assisted living, a rehabilitation unit, and long term care rooms. Volunteer opportunities abound.
